Aftermath Of Apple’s Event plus ‘Twitter Reactions’

The iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c launched yesterday. I was going to just come here and write about the launch but I don’t see the point . Every blog, website, newspaper has probably written about that. If you don’t know about the new i Phones then I don’t understand you to be honest. Are you under a rock or something? How are yoy reading this right now? I can’t wrap my head around that. However, just because I’m nice, you can read about that here and here. Rather than write about what you should already know, I’m writing about reactions to the launch. It has been crazy.

Nokia teased Apple for Imitating Lumia With iPhone 5C:

Nokia vs Apple

LOOL. My best reaction tbh

Moreover, there’s this complain that the iphone 5c is too cheap! *sigh* You folks are going to make these girls be like:

Random girl: Is that the iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c.

Me: iPhone 5c.

Random girl: mstchhhew…rubbish, You cant even buy 5s, shame on you.

*sigh am I buying the phone because of you. You folks are causin a ruckus with your opinions. I know most  Nigerians like to follow trends even if it’s going to bore a hole in their pockets. steady buying phones because of everything else but the actual features it provides. This world has ended, God hasn’t just notified us yet.

Also, the iPhone 5 owners have suddenly become obsolete since apple discontinued the production of the iPhone 5, though the price has suddenly increased on Amazon. From a Nigerian view point, if you have an iphone 5, you’re in the dark ages. I’m sorry bro. The S4 is still the smartphone of the year, if you have money and you want to splurge on something worthy, the S4 is the phone for you. Gospel truth brethren! However, as an apple fan boy, you can also get one of these new iPhones. but don’t break the bank, if you cant afford the iPhone 5s . Dont kill yourself, just buy the iPhone 5c and relax. Ya dig?  The iPhone 5s is just a little catch-up with very little innovation.

There are are also mixed reactions to the fingerprint scanner and people are linking it to the Illuminati, the Antichrist illuminati. Na wa, everything is Illuminati these days.

Personally, the worst reaction that I saw about the apple event is that someone said “When you can upgrade to iOS 7. Why buy another phone. Izzi just for Kpali?”. I find that very disturbing to be honest. It’s a new phone for Christ sake! Don’t you understand what a new phone means? new features! You can’t do fingerprint sensor if you only upgrade your ios, can you? The struggle to form tech savvy. nah, aint about that life. if you upgrade your iOS, is your phone suddenly going to have colors? Most of the features wont work effectively with your phone, that’s why its a new operating system. What is wrong with you people? it’s not like a laptop that you can just wipe your operating system and install windows 8 and you will be enjoying the full package. You can’t enjoy the new iOS on ‘lesser’ phones. Don’t piss me off.

advil_tainsville

*sigh* btw the sensor can recognize multiple fingerprints

ephh_tainsville

Lol. I’m guessing the A stands for America

Kevinhart_tainsville

I wonder how true this is

If you like this post, kindly share. I would normally do the whole twitter sharing but i’m working on borrowed time here and I have a meeting. On ASUU, Google Cloud Developer Challenge and Iphone 5s

The ASUU strike is now 70 days old. Last time there was an ASUU strike this long, lasted for 3 months actually, I resumed to find that three of my buddies had already changed schools. Imagine. They just left the country without taking a brother along. This life is just a pot of baked beans, no? just a pot? or a pot of boiling water? *sigh. Now, I’m wondering what’s in store for me this time lol.  I’m hoping the strike ends before November and if it doesn’t, they should just award my Bsc. and let me go. I’ll take my current CGPA and walk out of the gate with my head held high. A brother has plans you know. I don’t intend to grow white hair while waiting for ASUU and the FG to resolve issues.

Asuu strike

I should have just gone to Covenant 😥

There are pros though. I have time for my blog now and some other personal development stuff. I have been exercising too. Thanks to Sworkit.  I’ll probably write a post on how best to spend your ASUU strike. *fingers crossed*. Moreover, I’m thinking of buying out my domain. I have decided that If I posts at least two post per week till the end of September then I will, else, I will just leave it as it is. If the strike ends this month, that would definitely put paid to that, because I really won’t have time to come here and write stuff.

In more heartwarming news, The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are due tomorrow!!!! Can i get an hallelujah somebody?! Personally, I feel the S4 is still the phone of the year and there’s nothing Apple can do about that.  There’s a lot of buzz and leaks. There’s the  whole fingerprint sensor rumor and a new ios obviously, which is expected to be crazy. You can read on what to expect here and here. I also believe BBM for iOS will be launching tomorrow although no one has said anything about that yet.

Rumored iPhone 5s

Rumored iPhone 5s. looking dope already ^_^

I am not exactly excited about BBm for iOS. I have no plans to download it,  if it is made available on the 5.1, 6.0. and the likes. I like the idea of not waking up to 20 broadcast messages on my phone of various random stuff that I’m not interested in. I plan to stick with my Whatsapp. I feel Whatsapp is bbm for ios already. The only thing wrong with Whatsapp is the last seen time stamp and that’s even trivial.  However, I know that a lot of people are excited about BBM on iOS. There’s no doubting that it’s going to be dope!

Also, the response to my double posts on Blackdistrikt was quite encouraging.  It is currently my third most viewed post. My most viewed post is actually one random stuff I wrote when i was feeling in-touch with my emotional side. View here. Till today, it is still getting hits even though I have read it again and I’m not sure why it’s getting all the attention. I’m really hoping to figure it out so I can apply the same ideology to my other posts lol.

Finally, there’s the Google cloud developer challenge with more than three million up for grabs. View here. I’m just putting this here so someone can see this and if they win they can say they read it on this blog first lol. Slim chance yh? I know but I have included it notwithstanding lol. There are still some things I’m trying to figure out about the challenge, I’ll probably do a little reading and write a full post about it.

Wish you all a very good week. Stay scheming.

Tainsville’s Spotlights: Interview with Tiketmobile’s C.E.O, Celestine Eze-okoye

Tiketmobile img

Hello, Good people of the interwebs. A while ago, We put up a post about Tiketmobile, You can read it here. Today, We would be sharing an exclusive interview with Tiketmobile’s cofounder Celestine Ezeokoye. We have been siting on this interview for a while and it has been haunting our dreams. We do hope that someone gets inspired to do their own thing after reading this; which is the direction that this blog has been tilting in recent times, promoting the entrepreneurial mind.

Tiketmobile makes it easy and convenient for you to find information about bus tickets, buy the tickets and use it across major inter-state bus routes in Nigeria.

We caught up with Tiketmobile’s CEO at Co-creation hub.

Q&A with Celestine Ezeokoye, C.E.O., Tiketmobile

Tainsville: Kindly introduce yourself…

Celestine: My name is Celestine Ezeokoye. I am the co-founder of Tiketmobile. I currently act as the CEO.

Tainsvile: what does Tiketmobile do?

Celestine: Tiketmobile lets people conveniently buy bus tickets on their mobile phone. The key word is “conveniently”.

Tainsville: How did the idea come to life? Who came up with it/what inspired its founding?

Celestine: My co-founder (Constance Okoghenun)  had an idea of ticketing for events, then we did a little drift when my brother was going for his NYSC and he had to go and find out the price of the bus a day before he had to travel. So we turned it around from events ticketing to bus ticketing.

Tainsville: How are you going about it? Are you in collaboration with anybody?

Celestine: The bus companies are listed on it. If you want to travel, you find where you’re going and you pay with your atm card. We are ultimately going to get other companies and other modes of payment, but right now, you pay with your ATM card.

When you buy a ticket you’re actually booking. That’s basically what you do. When you buy your ticket, you book a space. That’s what it is.

Tainsville: Bus or taxi?

Celestine: Inter-state bus. Long distance bus. Lagos to Abuja, Lagos to benin. Those kind of buses.

Tainsville: All those ‘ekeledilichukwu’ kind of buses *laughs*

Celestine: *laughs* Yeah. All those kind of buses.

Tainsville: On payment, when the user pays, who is the money going to? the bus guys? How do you remit the money?

Celestine: The bus companies get their money. I wouldn’t want to go into details of how we do it. But when the user pays, the bus company gets their money and a notice is sent to them that you’re ready to book.

Tainsville: Is there any form of evidence?

Celestine: They user gets an sms and a ticket record. The bus company gets an sms and an email of the ticket record. when you go to board your bus, you just  provide the ticket record or sms.

Tainsville: How many users do you have currently?

Celestine: Errrm…we can’t give out our statistics now. We can’t give our records now

Tainsville: Okay. I understand

Tainsville: What have been your challenges so far?

Celestine: *pause* *chuckles*  ermm if I say things that are very technical it won’t make any sense to everyone.

Tainsville: LOL. I would try and tailor it in layman’s terms

Celestine: The biggest challenge in building the platform is payment, but there are other things. You need relationships. You need partnerships and relationships to make this kind of things work. if you don’t have relationships, you could stay in your house and build an awesome ticketing platform and then you lose in the long run.

You put it out and it doesn’t make sense to anybody. The people who should use it don’t see any value in it. So there are relationships that would let you even see the kind of values you need to put in what you’re doing and there are relationships that would actually help you translate those values  to what people would want to use on a regular basis.

One of the best places to get those kind of relationships is to be in a community, that’s what cc-hub brings. So most of the challenges we have were solved my just joining a community, by joining co-creation hub. Co-creation hub brings in business incubation, business support and then opens you up, creates a perfect platform for you to build those kind of relationships you need.

There’s nobody  that can do this kind of thing on their own. If you want to build something that would be useful to people , go out. Interact, join communities, join Cc-hub basically…and your life would never remain the same

Tainsville: Hahahaha..

Celestine: I’m selling them(CC-Hub) yeah?

Tainsville: Exactly

Celestine: But that’s it. Basically, if you need to go ahead… there’s nobody that can do it alone…you cant stand alone.

Tainsville: Who are the people currently supporting Tiketmobile?

Celestine: Co-creation hub, Tony Elumelu foundation, Nokia, Microsoft…errm…those are co-operate organisations. Individuals…Ade Atobatele, Chuka…there are so many people, so many people. If I was at home doing this, I wouldn’t have so many people supporting me.

Tainsville: What’s the future for Tiketmobile?

Celestine: Tiketmobile is going to be an household name the way Facebook is. The way Google is. It’s just going to be a household name, that’s the future.  It’s inevitable…with the help of God.

Tainsville: If there’s any other thing, I’ll get back to you. Thank you.

Celestine: You’re welcome.

Thanks for joining us Celestine! To our readers, check out Tiketmobile.com. Don’t forget to spread the word!!!

Microsoft’s Surface Tablet

Hours ago, in downtown Los Angeles, Microsoft unveiled its own entry in the game of tablets, hoping to bring to an end the reigns of current players; Apple and Google.

Microsoft’s tablet, called Surface, is a Windows 8 based tablet with integrated stand and keyboard running on both ARM and Intel systems. the kick-stand(integrated) which I personally think is a super cool initiative, allows you to watch movies, surf the net and any other stuff just like you do with your laptop.  are we facing a potential death of Pcs, laptops? yes? no?

Lordy lord :D

Surface also comes with two covers. The Type Cover and The Touch Cover. the 3mm thick Touch Cover folds down and functions as a full touch screen keyboard while the 5mm thick Type Cover has built-in keys that power down when they are folded against the tablet thanks to a built-in accelerometer. cool yeah?

If this isn't cool. what is!!?

The 10.6 inch tablet also has two cameras, front-facing and rear-facing. The front-facing camera is reportedly able to record the person in front of it even when the tablet is standing on the stand tilted!! it has a storage capacity of 32 or 64gb and microSD slot and runs two operating systems, Windows RT(Surface) and Windows8(Surface pro)

At the moment, pricing detail has not been released . Microsoft has decided to keep the price under wraps till Surface is officially available, which is likely to coincide with the full launch of its Windows 8 operating system due in a couple of months.

You might just want to chill before you shell out dough for the Ipad3 or the Samsung galaxy tab, this right here…has come to stay.
